I didn’t want to be late, and, thankfully, I managed to come here a few minutes before our meeting time. Thirty seven of those. If you thought that, despite my fears, I’m looking forward to this date, you were right.

What you might not have expected, and it surely came as a surprise to me, five minutes, or so, after my arrival, I saw Ethan, smiling brightly, approaching. His dressing approach was similar to mine. Only significant difference, he is wearing a red shirt. Not very suitable for a funeral, but we are not going to one. Oh! And also the fact he is far sexier than me.

So, he reaches where I’m standing. “Sorry, I’m late, baby!” And he pecks my lips.

I’m in a shock – pleasant one, should I clarify – and didn’t even think to say he came really early. I’ve said we kiss a lot, but that’s not the kind of kissing I meant. So, yeap, I’m very happy with it. Very. But unable to react in any way.

“Am I not allowed to kiss my boyfriend?” He pouts and blushes, and brings his left hand to my chest. First time I got “electroshocked” from his touch, and I’m not talking about static electricity. Apparently what he was trying to do, and did, was to put a rose in my shirt’s pocket. His eyes look at mine. His hand, still on my chest. His cheeks get redder.

“Of course you can, baby. Of course you can!”

He grins and pecks my lips again. “Thank you!”

His hand is still touching my chest, but now it’s at the centre of it. His eyes are again looking at my eyes. He still blushes and smiles, a bit nervously, but he doesn’t sound like he is making a joke. “You deserve more than a billion roses, Kay, but it would be a bit… challenging to bring so many. So, please forgive me for bringing you only one.”

“It’s more than enough!” And I take his hand from my chest and kiss it. What? Since he is playing the boyfriend role, why can’t I? Okay, okay! Between you and me, I didn’t really think what I was doing until after I had done it. But his grin gets wider and he blushes even more. I can’t help admiring him. “You are so beautiful!” And he kisses me again.

This is the best day of my life, already!

I hand him the chocolates, but don’t give him his presents, for now. I noticed he is holding a present bag, too, so I think he prefers to exchange them at a later time. He thanks me for the chocolates, and he kisses me again. I’m not complaining, I’m loving it, so please bear with my repetitions.

“So, do you have any special plans, or do you prefer to go with mine? I mean… we can combine them, too.”

“I’d love to go with yours.” Yes! I escaped that trap!

He smiles happily, takes my hand in his, and we start walking. I’m sure he is leading us somewhere, but he isn’t in a hurry. He walks slowly, tightening and loosening his hold of my hand, but never releasing it, and he is looking at me, every now and then, always smiling. I do the same, but he is cute!

Even I can say he looks a bit nervous. It’s surprising, but I don’t hate it. OK! I love it!

Eventually, we arrive at a cafe-bar. Heart-shaped balloons and other similar decorations all over. Unsurprisingly. Most, if not all, places are like that, today. A not so welcoming environment for singles. But, you suckers, I’m with my (fake) boyfriend today! It’s relatively early, so there are many empty tables. Nonetheless, Ethan, still holding my hand, leads me to one at the very back, at the corner, next to the toilets. The table everyone would avoid, if they had a choice.

“Do you mind if we sit here?”

The hell if I care! As long as we sit at the same table, of course. So, we sit there, one next to the other, which makes me even happier. He asked we do that, for, “I don’t want to stop caressing my baby, today.” You understand why I’m so happy. And once we are sat, he kisses my lips.

I can’t get enough of this, but, “Maybe, this is considered inappropriate behaviour here?”

“Look around you.”

There is a table with a group of four guys. Other than that, there are only five or six occupied tables. Two guys at each. And they look a little too focused on the one they are sitting with.

“Is… Is this a gay cafe?”

“Of course, my love!”

The waiter comes, we order, and our coffees arrive. In the meantime, the conversation is a normal conversation. Exchanging recent news and the like. Only difference, he holds my hand, he leans on me, he kisses my neck all the time. That’s not the first time he does that. He does that a lot. I love it, and he knows that. But, right now, I find it even more fulfilling. Most probably because I am – or both of us are – too much in the boyfriend role-playing that I can’t see it as a friendly gesture.

Anyway! After the coffees arrived, he asked me, “Is the bag you have over there for me, or are you meeting with your other boyfriend later?”

I giggle, I kiss his hand that holds mine and take the bag with my other hand, to give it to him. “Happy Valentine’s day, baby!”

I’m scared, but I think I hide it well enough. In the bag, both the underwear and the bracelets are separately wrapped, so, unsurprisingly, he takes out the card first. He looks at the “exhibitionist” and pokes his tongue to me. I’m sure he is expecting to see something equally silly inside. I want to say something clever, but right now, I’m really scared, so nothing comes to mind. He reads the card.

He looks at me. “Baby, that’s… you can’t imagine how happy you make me. Thank you!” And he kisses me. My lips. Repeatedly!

And now I can breathe. But, seriously Ethan, you are not the one who should be saying thanks. For better or worse, the next thing he takes out is the small package with the bracelets. He looks at them, he says he loves them, and asks me to tie them around his wrist. I do that. He looks at his wrist. He seems displeased. He unties all the other bracelets he wears, leaving only the ones I just gave him. He looks at his wrist again. And now he seems satisfied. There are no words that can describe how honoured that makes me feel!

Then, he takes out the jockstrap. He looks at it and starts laughing.

“Oh, baby! You are crazy! I love that! I love you!” He kisses me. “Thank you! …Fuck! And I thought, I would beat you to the boyfriend gift, but you won big time!”

I didn’t know we were having such a competition, believe me. If I knew, I would have done my best to lose. But seeing him enjoying himself makes me really happy. I mentally give the finger to that nasty little angel.

He hands me the bag he was carrying. “It’s nothing worth seeing, but, hopefully you won’t hate it. Happy Valentine’s day, baby!”

I look in the bag and there is only one thing in it. A simple dark-wood frame, with a beautiful black and white photo of a naked man. The model is absolutely astonishing, but the photo itself is beautiful, too. The guy is standing plainly, in front of a dark background. There is a light coming from over his right shoulder, at an angle, clearly lighting the guy’s beautiful torso and his amazing dick, but his lower right leg, as well as his face, which is turned to the left, fade in to the shadows.

Mesmerised by the guy and the photo, it took me some time to understand what I was really looking at. “Wait! That’s you!”

He blushes and hides his face behind his hands. “Yes.”

“Oh, my god! I always thought you are beautiful, but, oh dear! You. Are. Divine!”

“Thank you!” He peeks from between his fingers, but still hides his face. Cute!

“Can I really keep this?”

He uncovers his face, which is redder than ever before. “It’s yours, baby. You can keep it, you can throw it away, or you can give it to someone else. Or actually, don’t do the latter.”

“As if! Thank you, Ethan! Thank you! That’s really valuable. A treasure!” And without realising what I’m doing, I start kissing him. Almost went too far, but thankfully, my mind returned to my head in time, and I stopped. I couldn’t stop admiring and caressing the photo – or the guy in the photo – though. Neither could I stop thanking Ethan for his precious gift.

  1. Ah! You know I’m not much into Romance, but this story is something any human can relate to. Especially that ‘electric shock’! I was about sixteen when I first experienced it. lol I was doing the dishes and this guy ‘friend’ stuck his hand into the warm soapy water to ‘help’. Except he grabbed my hand instead. To this day I don’t know whether it was an accident or deliberate but…it was memorable. 😀
