April’s to-do list

April to-do list

March didn’t go as planned. Not at all! Let’s see…

So, March’s to-do list was this one:

  • Continue being active on Twitter and Deviant Art
  • Work more on WordPress blog
  • Resurrect Wattpad’s profile
  • Write more, draw more, paint more.

Continue being active on Twitter and Deviant Art

This was a success. Hoped to do more, but did well. I did some “backstage” work, too, on both sites.

On Twitter checked (most of) the followers I hadn’t had the chance to check, although intended to, for a looooong time. Followed quite a few of them, too. Also, set up a new profile (@YorgoskcN – don’t ask me why Twitter decided to lower-case the KC part) where I intend to post some of my “Not Safe for Work” kind of art, as well as retweet other NSFW context, without disturbing those of my followers who wouldn’t feel comfortable seeing such tweets in their time line. Without breaking Twitter’s rules, either. It’s going to officially “launch” on April the 1st. No need to follow, of course.

On DA I’ve posted a few drawings/paintings. Not many, but more than on February, so, yay! Also checked quite a few profiles. Found some interesting ones, too. Long way to go with this, but goal was achieved.

So, yes, first goal gets an 100%. 🥳

Work more on WordPress blog

I did some more catching up on WordPress, but not nearly as much as I intended to do. Didn’t post half as much as I intended to post, either (and they weren’t many posts, to start with). I didn’t even work on promoting my books, although, because of a pleasant event, I intended to do so. So… the latter part was a failure. Overall a 25% because of whatever little catching up I managed to do.

Resurrect Wattpad’s profile

Nice weather we have today, don’t we?

Yeah… something like that. Well… finished reading a story, so that’s amount to something. Right? 10%? (Pretend you agree 🥺🥺🥺)

Write more, draw more, paint more.

About the write more part, I’ll be very generous to myself and give me a 50%. Didn’t write more, but finished editing a short, “Demons on the Sea”, which is a good thing. Also, did a huge research in order to find a good enough model (a ship) for the cover. Found just the perfect one 🥳🥳🥳, for which I’m really happy. I’m so enthusiastic about the model, that I intend to dedicate a post to it, after the story is published. We’ll see 🤞. For now, I’m painting the cover. Have never before painted a ship, so, hopefully it won’t end up a disaster.

For the draw more, I have no words. Other than a doctor bunny I made for fun, nothing. So, this part will get a 1-3% (whichever will round the score of this goal).

Doctor Bunny

Paint more, yes, I did. Not successfully, in most cases, but this is partly because I was trying new things, and, “failures” are bound to happen when trying something new. So, let’s give this part a 90%. I’d like to give it a 100%, as, strictly speaking, I achieved this part of the goal, but I know I could do a bit more, so a perfect score doesn’t sound right.

So, overall, this goal gets a 47% (gave the second part a 1%)

So, March’s score is a 45.5%

Okay… It’s not good, but it feels better than when I started writing this post, so, yay!

Now… April… Since I did such a terr… eh… I mean… a not so good job with March’s goals, I’ll re-set them for April.

So, (deja vu) April’s to-do list:

  • Continue being active on Twitter and on Deviant Art
  • Work more on WordPress blog
  • Resurrect Wattpad’s profile, for real now!
  • Write more, draw more, paint more.

No analysis needed, for most of those. Did that for March. I’ll only comment on Twitter and Deviant Art, as, this was a successful goal for March, and I’m taking it a very tiny bit further.

On Twitter, staring on April’s the 1st I’ll have to manage two profiles. Which will make things more challenging.

For the new profile, I hope to find at least 10 interesting people to follow, with it. Artists and photographers of similar genre, as well as erotica author’s included to my priorities, there.. 10 sounds like a small number, but I don’t want to challenge my luck and end up with a failure at the end of the month. 😇

For the main profile, I hope to remain as active as I’ve been on March. More will be better, but, I’m being realistic here. I did as much as time and eyes permitted, there, on March, so asking for more, while there is a second profile running, wouldn’t be feasible.

About Deviant Art, now. I intend to post all the until-now made drawings and paintings I like. And, of course, find a few more interesting profiles to follow. The latter includes much searching, so it takes time. But, hopefully, I’ll manage.

So, that’s all for now.

Wishing you all a great, inspiring, productive and creative April!

  1. It sounds to me like you accomplished a lot. I sometimes feel like we have such high expectations of ourselves. I think this is why writers end up burning out so often. Celebrate your successes! You did a lot of great things!

    1. Oh, thank you, Elizabeth! 💖💖💖
And I think you are right about the high expectations and the resulting burn out. I’ve fallen for this trap quite a few times, and can’t say I’ve learned my lesson, so I’ll try to keep that in mind! 💖😁😘
Hope you are doing well! 🍀🍀🍀 And also, I love your flash fiction!

I do like this monthly goals idea & they way you’re holding yourself accountable.

    1. Thank you, Rosetta! 💖💖💖
I started this on Twitter, and found out that it helps me both to focus and to not get very disappointed. Usually I set goals for the year. And, at first, I think, “there is plenty of time” and then, “all of the sudden”, it feels like time has run out and I have accomplished nothing. And this happens long before the year ends, for, when this realisation comes, the goals seem too big to achieve them. 😅
But this way, it’s a month. Every month is a new beginning, and even if it doesn’t go well, the next month will be another new beginning.
But also, writing this post I realised that it might help me in another way, too. I really thought this month was a failure, until I came up with the final score. And, of course, with yours, Elizabeth’s and Meeka’s comments I feel that I might actually have had a mostly good month 😁 Thank you! 💖

  3. Like Elizabeth and Rosetta, I’m impressed with your successes even if you aren’t! You’re being creative in almost everything you do, and that is worth a pat on the back. Just don’t overdo things coz you have to balance productivity with health. -big hugs-

After reading your comments here, I might have started believing I did well enough 🤔.
Learning to set realistic goals, as well as to balance productivity and healt, as you’ve said, are two lessons I need learn. I’ll do my best on that. And make sure you do the same!

      1. Yes, it is very a balance. In fact, I believe we actually become more productive when we ‘listen to our bodies’. I used to do most of my writing, both tech and fiction, at night. These days? It has to be first thing in the morning because I’m useless by the afternoon. That’s to do with reduced sleep and ageing, but the principle applies. 🙂
