Pink Sunset – Acrylics

This is an acrylic painting.

It was done with a wet-on-wet technique. To allow the acrylics to have a long drying time, I covered the canvas with an acrylic medium that made the canvas not-absorbing. After that one was dry I covered the canvas with a relatively generous layer of slow-drying medium, and additionally I mixed some of this slow-drying medium with the paints.

Overall, it needed about three and a half to four hours to completely dry, but it was dry enough to avoid mud-mixing after about an hour and a half.

Keep in mind that if you don’t apply that initial medium, slow-drying medium won’t keep acrylics wet for that long.
