Goodbye February, Hello March!

So, February is closing in to its end and, along with it, winter, too, for the Northern Hemisphere. I won’t hold my breath about the later, though. Last year, March and the half of April, with its snowfalls, were colder than February, and I have some rational and some irrational reasons to speculate that they might not be very spring-like this year, either. I’ll come back to these reasons in a following post because they have inspired a WIP. Whether it will become something more than just a WIP, I hope to find out, soon.

But this post is an evaluation kind of post for February’s to-do list and a rough schedule of March’s to-do list.

February’s to-do list was this one:

Change the pinned tweet

This one was achieved. Yeah, doesn’t sound very challenging, but, you know, seemingly small goals that are easy to complete help to boost a sense of confidence and achievement. At the same time, failing to make them happen can be quite discouraging. So, I’m happy I did this. 🥳

Resurrect Deviant Art’s profile

Ok! I did something little with this one. Given that DA’s profile wasn’t very active since it came to exist, I’m not displeased. I managed to check some of the profiles I follow and, also, published two drawings. It would be nice had I done more, but, for now, I’ll call this one a success, too. 😇

Resurrect WordPress blog

Working on this. Posted a short. That was something. Interacted, a little, with some blogs. That was good, too. But, hardly a success. There are enough blogs I hadn’t had the chance to catch up with.

On that note, there are three blogs I discovered that they have become private. I don’t know what to do with those. One of them, I’m not really worried. I enjoyed reading their posts, liked some, but that’s all there was to it. And this particular blog, although I can’t visit it, I keep receiving the email notifications of their posts and can read them via email. Can’t like them, can’t comment on them, but okay.

The other two, though, are more of a problem. They are blogs of people I had some contact with. I don’t receive any email notifications about their posts, either. Which might mean they don’t post anything, but I’m not certain about that. Another blog I knew I should be receiving email notifications, and used to receive, found out that “I” had unsubscribed from. I didn’t. Wasn’t around to do it, even accidentally. That blog is not a private one, so I re-subscribed, but, maybe, in the same way, “I” have unsubscribed from the two private ones, too? I don’t know.

One of them had an active profile on Twitter and intended to ask them, from there, how should I handle the private blog matter. Unfortunately, they have completely deleted their Twitter account. In fact, since January their @ belongs to someone new, and this new person is not the same person. It’s not like they reset their profile.

The other one hadn’t had an active profile on Twitter for long time now, and this is still the case, so no other means of contact with them either.

If you haven’t encountered a private blog, WordPress gives you a page saying, “This site is private. Click here to sent your user name to the owner, if you want to have access to it,” or something like that. I don’t know if I should, though. They turned their blog to a private one for some reason, and, since I don’t know the reason, I think asking for access would be rude. If you know better, please let me know.

Catch up with Twitter followers and followees

This is a work in progress. Realistically speaking, it couldn’t be anything but that, because none of them halted activity to give me time to catch up 🤣. So, yeap, wasn’t expecting miracles. I earnestly worked on this and did the best I could. Which should have left me with a feeling of “success”.

It hasn’t. I used to be able to check more profiles. Many more. Eye sensitivity is partly a reason it’s unwise to invest more time on Twitter, but even for the amount of time I am there, I can do less that I used to do. So, it feels more like a failure than a success.

Anyway… I think a 60% success for February’s to-do list is a fair score. Which isn’t brilliant, but, at least it isn’t bad, either. 😋

And so we move on to March!

March’s to-do list

• Continue being active on Twitter and Deviant Art
• Work more on WordPress blog
• Resurrect Wattpad’s profile
• Write more, draw more, paint more.

Continue being active on Twitter and Deviant Art

Well, okay, it will be nice, if I can achieve more, on both, than I achieved on February, but I’ll keep this realistic and say, I hope to do, at least, as much as I did on February. Of course, if the 4th goal is a success, then, probably I’ll do a better job with Deviant Art, too.

My Deviant Art profile is registered as a photographer’s profile. Photography is probably not what I’ll be working on during March, though. If spring does come, now that days start earlier, some new photos might appear. Very early in the morning, the city is relatively empty, and I might be able to go out and take some photos, in a relatively safe manner, but we’ll see. So, I mostly hope to post some drawings and paintings. And also, to dedicate a little more time on checking the few profiles I interact with and to search for some more profiles of interest to follow.

Nonetheless, so that I won’t end up evaluating this goal as a failure at the end of the month, I’ll keep my expectations both for Twitter and for DA on February’s levels.

Work more on WordPress blog

I’m optimistic about this one. I don’t have a big audience on WordPress, so, some more catching up is feasible. I won’t proclaim I’ll do a perfect job with it, but, expecting to do a bit more is still realistic. Right?

Also, I intend to do some more blogging. This part might be the most challenging one. I intend to post some updates about writing, drawing and painting. These alone will be two posts (or three), which are as many as February’s posts (counting this one, too). So, it feels feasible to make them three, or even four. If 4th goal is a success, this one will become even more feasible.

Resurrect Wattpad’s profile

I did publish the, “Is this a Dream?” story there, so one might say I actually have resurrected it, but that’s not true. I haven’t continued any of the stories I was reading (and I’ll need to start them from the beginning) and haven’t interacted with anyone, there, so it’s not what I would call an active profile.

Incidently, to my surprise, a person had asked me to finish the Greek story. Yeap… because of some things that happened in my private life, I haven’t finished it. It’s written. It needs some polishing, but haven’t done that and haven’t published it. And, truthfully, I thought nobody really cared about it. So, this was a very pleasant surprise. Bragging, yes, but how can I not? 🥳😁😇

Write more, draw more, paint more

About writing, I have some WIPs and I hope to work on them. At least on one of them. There is another one that is being prepared to become a real WIP, too. I’m a planer, so until I complete the basic outline, I don’t consider it a real WIP. Remember the comment about the winter-like spring weather on the top of this post and a WIP? This is the one. It has nothing to do with the weather, though. The story, I mean.

Other than the WIPs, I also hope to write a short, or two. Shorts are not supposed to be my forte, but they give a feeling of completion. A feeling of achieving something. And I need this feeling, so, I’ll try to write some shorts. Books take too much time, and much of it is spent on thinking, “I won’t make it!” So, shorts are good! 😁

About drawing and painting, there are a few things I want to try, and intent to do so during March. And also, I want to do some pieces of the kinds I should have learned by now, but haven’t, they are in my capabilities. I won’t say more about those, now, as this post has become quite a large one, and, also, it’s a good excuse to make a drawing/painting post. 😇
